Netherlands has announced their squad for Euro 2024:
The Netherlands has announced their squad for Euro 2024, featuring star players like Van Dijk, De Jong, and De Ligt.
They qualified for the tournament just behind France and will face France again in Group D, along with strong teams Austria and Poland. Their 1st Match is on June 16.
Koeman's team was knocked out in the round of 16 three years ago. Although they are not the top favorites to win, their talented players could lead to some surprises.
After starting with a 30-man provisional squad earlier this month, Koeman and his staff have now reduced it to 26 players.
Among those cut is Ian Maatsen, a Chelsea player on loan at Borussia Dortmund. Despite his good performance, helping Dortmund reach the Champions League final, he did not make the final squad.
Others not included are Nick Olij, Quinten Timber, and Marten de Roon. Quinten Timber, brother of Arsenal's Jurrien Timber who is injured, has shown potential but was also left out.
The final squad includes many Premier League players. Liverpool's Virgil Van Dijk will captain the team, joined by Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch.
Other Premier League stars are Tottenham's Micky van de Ven, Manchester City's Nathan Ake, and Brighton's Bart Verbruggen.
Former Premier League players like Georginio Wijnaldum, Steven Bergwijn, Wout Weghorst, and Daley Blind are also in the squad. Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong, who had a great season, is expected to play an important role.
